Once in a lifetime isn't a slogan. It's his show record.
Dave Mize looked at more than a hundred prospects before he stopped on a red roan colt by Metallic Cat out of Scooters Daisy Dukes. What caught him wasn't hype — it was the stop, and the way the colt used his front feet. Tres Osos Performance Horses, the program Linda Mars built with Paula and Dave Mize, bought him as a prospect to resell.
Then they got to know him. Around the barn he's "Skeeter" — a phenomenal stopper, a genuine herd horse, and the kind of mind Metallic Cat is famous for stamping. The sale never happened. Some horses you flip. This one became the heart of the whole program.
In Lipan, Texas, Erin Taormino took the reins — and together they rewrote NRCHA history. His early years weren't easy, and that's the point: he flourished when it counted, and he's never stopped.
"This horse is one of those once-in-a-lifetime horses."— Erin Taormino
In 2025, Erin Taormino and Hazardouz Material won the World's Greatest Horseman with an 884.5 composite — making her the first and only woman ever to take the title, and making him immortal.
Titles aren't talk. Roll the tape.
2025 World's Greatest Horseman — The Championship · NRCHA
The industry's defining sire, crossed on a million-dollar producer. This is not an accident of breeding — it's the blueprint.

2016 · Red Roan · LTE $490,519+
6-Panel tested · HERDA N/H
By Dual Smart Rey. LTE $96K+ and an NRCHA Million Dollar Dam with $1.65 million in produce earnings — Hazardouz Material and his brother Scooter Kat account for roughly a million of it between them.
Nine seasons of herd work, rein work and fence runs at the highest level — and he's still sound, still stopping, still stamping foals with the frame that made it possible.

Founded by Linda Mars with Paula and Dave Mize in Mimbres, New Mexico, Tres Osos bought Skeeter to train and resell. He became the horse they couldn't let go — and the standard their entire program is measured against.
"His front feet snapped with you both directions, then he would run out there and sit on his tail. I did not see how that one would not work."— Dave Mize · Tres Osos Performance Horses
Tres Osos breeds him to "hot and spicy" mares for a reason — the cross is built to make winners. The 2026 book is full, but 2027 is coming.
